Pakistani singer and social worker, also known as the singer who never ages, Shehzad Roy became a pride of Pakistan when he represented the country on the global stage of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as a Goodwill Ambassador on March 12, at the 61st session held in Vienna, Austria. The famed singer was initially appointed as the goodwill ambassador of the said organization on October 2017.
Roy also took to Instagram his pride in taking Pakistan to an international level. He further thanked Yury Fedotov, UNODC Executive Director, for contacting young people and helping them against the rising drug issue.
UNODC Executive Director Yury Fedotov had earlier said;
“Throughout his career as a singer, social worker and a humanitarian, Roy has shown an unwavering commitment to tackling illicit drugs.”
“His position as one of Pakistan’s most famous singers, his enduring popularity with young people, and his energy and undoubted talent, will help UNODC publicise the dangers of drug abuse.”
We can’t be more proud of Shehzad Roy for using his talent for a good cause and taking the pride of Pakistan to a global stage.
