Hadiqa Kiani, a multifaceted talent from Pakistan, is renowned as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, and actress. Notably, she’s also a compassionate humanitarian. The Jang Group of Newspapers recognized her as one of “Pakistan’s Most Powerful and Influential Women” in their 2016 “Power” edition. Hadiqa Kiani has garnered plentiful accolades both at home and abroad. Her musical prowess has graced prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall and The Kennedy Center. Beyond Urdu and Punjabi, she has also lent her voice to several Pashto songs.
In 2006, Kiani was honored with Pakistan’s fourth-highest civilian award, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, recognizing her impactful contributions to the music realm. A groundbreaking achievement followed in 2010 when she assumed the role of a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme, marking her as the pioneering Pakistani woman in this United Nations position.
After dedicating years to the music industry, Hadiqa ventured into acting in 2021 with the TV drama “Raqeeb Se.” Subsequently, she played leading roles in the drama serials “Dobaara” and “Pinjra.”
Deepening her humanitarian efforts, she adopted a son named Naad-e-Ali from the Edhi Foundation after the 2005 earthquake. Hadiqa’s personal life included a marriage to Afghan businessman Syed Fareed Sarwary, who resides in the UK. However, their union concluded in divorce in 2008.
